Kelly & Nathan {Seattle Engagement Photography}

I met my friend Anna at a photography workshop to launch our websites in two days. The workshop is called Go Live Event with Sitehouse and Promise Tangeman is the guru behind it all. It was an intense two days but we all loved every minute of it. It was worth the time and money to invest in good websites and great friendships. I could go on for days about how awesome it was but this is about Kelly and Nathan:)

Kelly who is originally from Maryland went to school with Anna and is currently living in Seattle, where she met her fiancé Nathan:) Anna connected us on the world wide web and reached out to her photog friends in the Pacific Northwest and inquired if anyone would be interested in an engagement session because the wedding will take place on the East Coast! Of course I was all in:)

Meet Kelly and Nathan, not only are these two cute and perfect for each other but they LOVE one another. I, fell in love with them. They both work in the education department in Seattle. They also shared with me that they dabble with taking pictures, of course we were going to get along! Even after the phone call I had with Kelly, I knew it was going to be great!

And so it was, pretty awesome. I felt like I was photographing a guy from J. Crew and Reese Witherspoon for the afternoon:)besides being a ridiculously good looking couple, they are sweet genuine people. I would not mind getting coffee or Thai food with them in the future.

Cheers

P.S. The blue bridge is Nickerson Bridge in Fremont:) Its where Nathan proposed. Love.

{Sweet Love} Rose + Jimmy :: Puyallup Engagement Photography

I was meeting my good friend Ceybom at good ole Starbucks and walks in Rose, a bride to be! Ceybom says to me, “Rose is still looking for a photographer”:)I smile and gush inside, hoping maybe she would contact us and sure enough she did! We have Ceybom to thank for that:)

Rose is such a sweet and kind hearted woman! She has amazing skin and has beautiful hair as well, she is the whole package:)Jimmy her fiance is just as kind, they are simply perfect for each other:)We exchanged a few emails and found a time to meet to discuss their wedding in detail. I am so excited to eat some bomb authentic KOREAN food at the first reception. That’s right, the first reception one of two. I am sure I will be instagramming that time, haha!

It was great that Rose and Jimmy decided to keep the engagement session in their package, because it is such a good time for them to get to know me and vice versa. We had a wonderful time and the session went by so fast! I loved every minute with them and look forward to their September wedding. I love the fall time in WA, we normally always have great Septembers:)well enough of me, check out their photos. They ROCKED in front of the camera!

Ceybom - LOVE LOVE LOVE! Moch you really captured the joy and love in these 2 (and the vintage flare is so lovely!)

They got MARRIED {Allison + Alec} May 5, 2012

Allison is family with Tyler, whom I photographed a year ago for his senior photos! He is a graduate from Emerald Ride HS. So that is how we got connected with Allison and Alec for their wedding, and what a lovely referral Tyler’s mom sent us.

These two are casual, easy going and just fun to be around! Loved their engagement time that I had with them. If that time went well I can only assume that the wedding would be that much better!

Surprisingly enough, on May 5, 2012 the sun came out and there was no rain. Nada! It was fantastic! WA weather was on our side for their wedding day. Alec’s dad is a pastor at Trinity, the church off I-5 near the Tacoma Mall where the big sign says “Jesus Cares About You.” The ceremony was held there, after that all the guests and wedding party drove to The Kelley Farm in Bonney Lake where their awesome reception was at! Let me tell you these two know how to party, their guests danced f-o-r-e-v-e-r:)which in my opinion is the way to do it! So glad we got to capture their big day! So glad we got to meet such great people! Jon and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves:)Cheers!

TANZANIA, AFRICA :: JON GOES TO AFRICA!

For those of you who has been following our blog have read in the previous posts before that Jon was going overseas for a business trip! You also read in that post that I was quite emotional and had mixed feelings. One, I was sad I couldn’t explore the Africa with him (soon realized how selfish I was being). I thought that we would do everything together, literally. Two, I was scared he would have all the fun without Owen and I (again, selfish). Three, a little bit worried he wouldn’t make it back to us safely. But I have overcome those feelings and have come to conclusion that I need to suck it up and know it could be worse. So I am telling you all who is reading, that I am fine now:)I am so happy and very thankful he will get to travel to so many places working with Vision Fund (a subsidiary company through World Vision). Vision Fund is a great organization that works with Micro loans around the world. You can click on the link to find out more information, if you are interested.

In place of my feelings toward this new position, I have informed my husband that he must try new foods for me as if I were with him and explore the cities if he can while he is working!:)and to take PICTURES, including pictures of himself in some of them so we can tell our kids later about these adventures that Daddy gets to go on. Jon not only got to see the people from the villages but also went on a Safari! Enjoy what Jon has to say about the photos! – Moch

“I recently was hired by a company called VisionFund International, which is the micro-finance division of World Vision International. They hired me as their Brand Specialist to re-brand their different Micro Finance Institutes (MFI’s) across the world. One of the many aspects of my new job is traveling to these different MFI’s and working in their local country to get marketing materials created for them. Tanzania was the first of 30+ countries that I will be visiting over the next couple of years and it was an amazing start to my exciting job.

After 23 hours of flying I arrived in Tanzania not really knowing what to expect. It was definitely different then the United States; especially from the Pacific Northwest considering it was 45 degrees warmer than at home. There isn’t a McDonald’s or Starbucks. There aren’t air conditioned shopping malls. There are very few traffic lights, if any, and the local driving techniques are aggressive to say the least. But in the end I realized that Tanzania is exactly like the rest of the world; people trying to survive and live life the best they know how. Names, looks, and cultures may differ, but in the end we are so similar. That’s what’s so great about traveling. You get to meet people who are so different than you and yet so much the same. It’s fascinating.

I was also fortunate enough to go on a Safari while I was there. It was absolutely amazing. Out of all the animals I saw, probably one of my favorites were the Elephants. They are so massive, so powerful, and yet possess such a playful and kind spirit when you watch them. They are truly incredible. I don’t think I would want to go up and pet one, but I really enjoyed watching them.

I took hundreds of photos but I wanted to show just a few of my favorites. I will never forget the beauty of the animals, the people and the African landscape. These photos don’t do it justice.”

Enjoy,

Jon

{Taking it up a notch} Personal :: Photography; Tacoma/Seattle

Jasmine Star is one of my favorite photographers that I follow:)She is just so cool! She will be in Seattle at the end of April at Creative Live for three days and they will pick six students to be there Live with them on site! Jon helped me create a video for a chance to be one of the students! We had lots of out takes, I couldn’t help but laugh in all of them and sometimes cried. Hahaha being a girl is so much fun, so many emotions:)But the one that made the cut was a well composed, self-controlled and hopefully a professional yet fun person came out in the video to show who I am as a photographer! We only had 60 seconds or so hahaha!

Click on the link below to view the video until I can figure the sizing to put it in this blog post:)Cheers – Hope I get picked!
